Remembrance
Due to the exceptionally high number of casualties, the Battle of the Somme, has always been a focal point for local community remembrance.
The first permanent memorial opened on the Somme battlefield, after the end of hostilities.
A Lodge of Limited Purpose, founded to perpetuate the memory of those from the Orange family who fought at the Somme.
