The way parliamentary democracy is conducted here and in many places in the world, regular general elections, freedom of debate in Parliament, the accountability of Ministers to their Parliament and Parliament to the electorate can be traced back to them. To this we can add that freedom of religion, freedom of the press, freedom in everyday life, are a fruit of their influence.
William and Mary exemplified lives given to service both here and abroad, lives which honoured God, and were characterised by integrity and honest dealing.
 
Their reign so little remembered today remains as one of the most important and beneficial in British history.
